{"id":1257,"date":"2014-06-04T19:10:46","date_gmt":"2014-06-05T03:10:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/custerrodandgun.com\/wordpress\/?p=1257"},"modified":"2014-06-04T19:11:35","modified_gmt":"2014-06-05T03:11:35","slug":"ray-maves-memorial-shoot-and-d-day-shoot-june-7th-8th","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/custerrodandgun.com\/wordpress\/ray-maves-memorial-shoot-and-d-day-shoot-june-7th-8th\/","title":{"rendered":"Ray Maves memorial Shoot and D-Day Shoot June 7th &#038; 8th"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>RAY MAVES MEMORIAL SHOOT \u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p>June 7th 2014 &#8211; Registration begins at 8:30 a. m.<\/p>\n<p><b>D-DAY SHOOT <\/b><b><\/b><\/p>\n<p>June 8th 2014 &#8211; Registration begins at 8:30 a. m.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Memorial Shoot<\/span><\/b><b> <\/b><\/p>\n<p>There will be seven classes shot at SR-21 Target.<\/p>\n<p>1) Any rack grade military bolt-action rifle using jacketed bullets (as-issued sights)<\/p>\n<p>2) Any rack grade military bolt-action using lead bullets (as-issued sights)<\/p>\n<p>3) Any rack grade Garand (as-issued sights)<\/p>\n<p>4) Any sporter\/hunting rifle with any scope or iron sights<\/p>\n<p>5) Any rifle chambered in .22 Long Rifle<\/p>\n<p>6) Any other rimfire rifle<\/p>\n<p>7) Any rack grade military rifle (as-issued sights) surplus ammo<\/p>\n<p>Entry fee is $10 per class<\/p>\n<p>This will be shot off the bench or prone at 100 yards with any rest.\u00a0 Twenty shots, ten on each target for group.\u00a0 Thirty shots, ten on each target for score.\u00a0 The thirty shots for score will also be added for an aggregate winner.\u00a0 There will also be a pot shoot for rifle and pistol.\u00a0 <b>Please bring any portable benches, rests, and sandbags you have, as these are a precious commodity for this shoot!<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">D-Day Shoot<\/span><\/b><b> <\/b><\/p>\n<p>You may use any rifle or pistol you could have found on the battlefield at that time.\u00a0 Period dress encouraged but not required.\u00a0 Bring a helmet if you have one.\u00a0 Be prepared to shoot and move.\u00a0 We will shoot twelve rounds with pistol at 50 yards.\u00a0 The remainder of the course will be shot with a rifle:\u00a0 ten rounds at 300 yards prone, ten rounds sitting or kneeling at 200 yards, ten rounds standing at 100 yards.\u00a0 Bring bayonets and bandoleers.<\/p>\n<p>A sniper class match will be held following the D-Day shoot for an additional $10 entry fee.\u00a0 Any sniper rifle, any scope (or iron sights) set to a magnification consistent with those of that period.\u00a0 It will be ten shots prone at 200 yards and ten shots prone at 300 yards.\u00a0 No bipods or adjustable rests will be allowed (packs, helmets, or similar equipment may be utilized as a rest however).<\/p>\n<p>Eye and ear protection and open bolt indicators (obi&#8217;s available at shoot) are required.\u00a0 Safety is of utmost importance.<\/p>\n<p>Entry fee is $10 per individual and $20 per<\/p>\n<p>Lunch will be served at the range both days.\u00a0 Donations will be accepted.<\/p>\n<p><b>LOCATION<\/b>:\u00a0 Olmstead Range in Glendive, MT\u00a0 For more information call Ed Curtiss, 377-9612<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; RAY MAVES MEMORIAL SHOOT \u00a0 June 7th 2014 &#8211; Registration begins at 8:30 a. m.
