Custer Rod & Gun Club (CR&GC)

April 2025 Activities

The club has several activities open to members and non-member including Action Pistol, Archery, Trap, Skeet, and 5-Stand.

At this time the Trap Range is closed until we can get parts to get the thrower up and running again. Stay Tuned

April 18-19th the Pistol Bays will be closed for Montana Protection Classes. Instructed by Bradley Harmsworth, Watchman Consulting.

As always matches and events are weather dependent and we do try to post updates to the Custer Rod and Gun Club facebook page.

Spotted Eagle Range Clean Up Day – Arpil 5th

On April 5th we will be having a Spotted Eagle Clean-up Day @9am. Mostly just need bodies to help reset a couple of the range signs that were damaged last year as well as some general range maintenance. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. All volunteers get there names put into a drawing for an incentive prize that is drawn at the annual banquet.

Sunday Creek Range Day Clean Up – May 3rd

On May 3rd we will be having a Sunday Creek Range Clean-up Day @9am. Help is need with target repairs, clean-up, and general maintenance.Bring gloves and if you can weed trimmers, shovels, rakes, etc. Hope to see you out there.Volunteers will have there name put into a bucket for a incentive drawing at the annual banquet.

Muzzeloader & Cowboy Action – April 19th

Mark Jacobsen is planning on putting together a Muzzeloader Shoot on the third Saturday of each month. April 19th he is planning on setting up at the 1st 100yd Rifle Range. Folloing Randy Hard will set up for a Cowboy Action Mach. Open to members and non-members. For More Information contact Mark Jacobsen or Randy Hart

Action Pistol

Action Pistol will be held every Thursday evening at 6 p.m. at the Sunday Creek pistol bays. Setup starts at 4 p.m. ANY AND ALL HELP would be greatly appreciated. Open to members and non-members. Matches are free through the month of April

3D Archery

Jason Sibble is planning on the 3D Archery shoots on Fridays & possibly some Saturdays at Spotted Eagle. Check the CR&GC Facebook page for times. Contact him on messenger for more information. Each week is a different setup. No class or division. Just laid back. Bow Hunter/Free Style. (Range finders welcome.) All Ages. Score cards and water provided. Bring Bug Spray. Not necessary to be a member to shoot Fridays.

Steel Challenge

Steel Challenge matches are held every second Thursday of each month. This will be open to all club members and non-members, 22 rimfire and larger pistol calibers are allowed. The rules will be governed by the Steel Challenge Shooting Association (SCSA), however the club is not affiliated so no pre-registration is necessary.

Skeet – Trap

Skeet is held every Sunday evening at 3 p.m. out at the Spotted Eagle Recreation Area. Trap range is closed until we can get the throwers repaired and running again. Check the CR&GC Facebook page for updates.

Jon Hofer Memorial 5-Stand

When we have the dates for the year pinned down they will be posted on the Custer Rod and Gun Club webpage and facebook page.
