Action Pistol Shooting 6/26 CANCELED!

I’ve debated all day about this, but I’m going to go ahead and cancel tonight’s Action Pistol shoot.

Depending on which weather source you look at it’s a 50% – 90% chance of severe thunderstorms with heavy down pours and hail starting around the same time we start shooting. I don’t want to set everything up just to abandon it if we all have to go running for cover.

Sorry about that. Please pass on the word to anyone you know who may have been planning on shooting tonight, as they may not have gotten notified any other way, and I hate for someone to drive all the way out to the range to find out we’re not shooting.

Action Pistol Shoot – April 12th

First Action Pistol Shoot of the year, and Introduction to Action Pistol Shooting

We will hold our first Action Pistol Shoot of the year at the Custer Rod and Gun Club Rifle range Saturday, April 12th at 10:00 AM. In addition we will be holding a Beginners/Introduction shoot for anyone who has thought about coming out but may have been intimidated by trying it for the first time, or maybe are new to handguns in general.

If you think Action Pistol shooting would be fun (and it is!) but have been afraid that you might embarrass yourself trying it for the first time, this day is for you. We will have a separate squad for new shooters, who will be given a thorough introduction to our sport. If you are totally new to handguns, you’ll be walked through the basics of your particular gun. The squad will then shoot all three stages in a very casual, non-competitive atmosphere, with more experienced shooters helping you along the way.

All of our Action Pistol shoots are very much suited to new comers, and but if you’ve ever thought about trying it but worried about being ‘the new guy’ you owe it to yourself to come out April 12 and try it!

The stages we will be shooting are listed below:
